Disk Defragmenter:

The fragmentation occurs when adding and removing files from your computer. When you delete a file, Windows marks the sector, such as is available, and used the next time you create the file. If the file gets larger and continuous space is not available, Windows uses to store the new part of the file available to other sectors. Fortunately, Windows comes with a program that moves the contents of the files on your hard disk so that each file is stored as a contiguous string of sectors – Disk Defragmenter.
